This paddling event was put on by the Metis Historical Society of Manitoba. We put in at John Bruce Park and paddled to Lagimodière-Gaboury Historical Park – a little over 14 km and about 4 hours of paddling.
We saw several deer and turtles, as well as ducks and Canadian geese. One deer swam across the river just ahead of us and, after reaching shore, shook herself dry like a dog.
